The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced potential traffic delays due to night lane closures at the intersection of Honoapiʻilani Highway and Kapunakea Street in Lahaina. The closures are necessary for sewer line and paving work related to the Kaiāulu o Kūkuʻia Affordable Housing project.
The planned closures will affect one lane each in the northbound and southbound directions on Honoapiʻilani Highway at this intersection. These lanes will be closed nightly from 8 p.m., starting Monday, February 24, until 5 a.m., Saturday, March 1. Despite these closures, one lane in each direction will remain open for through traffic.
"Highway users should anticipate potential traffic delays," stated HDOT.
