The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Design and Construction (DDC) is currently installing drainage improvements within Kailua Beach Park. The next phase of these improvements requires the replacement of an existing storm drain line that currently runs across the Kailua boat ramp parking entrance and through the unpaved parking area to the existing drainage outlet. The construction of these improvements will require parking restrictions within the unpaved boat trailer parking area. The paved parking area and access to the Kailua boat ramp will remain open during this time.

Weather permitting, work is scheduled from March 13, 2023 through April 28, 2023, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., excluding State and Federal Holidays. For safety concerns, parking restrictions in this area will remain in-place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The City is asking the public to navigate this area with caution and obey all traffic controls. Traffic flaggers and/or uniformed Honolulu Police Department officers will be on-site directing pedestrians and traffic in the parking area. Please remember to drive with caution in areas where construction crews are working.
