The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced a temporary closure of one northbound lane at the intersection of Honoapiʻilani Highway and Kapunakea Street. This closure is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, to facilitate sewer line testing related to the Kaiāulu o Kūkuʻia Affordable Housing project.

Testing will occur from 9 a.m. to noon. During this time, one northbound lane on Honoapiʻilani Highway will remain open, as well as the left turn pocket at the intersection heading makai.

The purpose of this testing is to ensure that the newly installed sewer line meets sanitary standards. The work is scheduled during midday when sewer flows are typically lower, minimizing potential damage risks.

Motorists are advised to follow all signs and traffic controls and exercise caution around workers.
