The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) website has once again been nationally recognized as a Gold winner in the 2022 dotCOMM awards. The website, located at fire.honolulu.gov, has won a total of five awards since its release in April 2021.
“Being selected amongst 2,500 other applicants for an award on behalf of our client (HFD) is an incredible honor,” said Rosie Warfield, manager of eGovernment services at NIC Hawaii. “The redesign of the HFD website was a significant accomplishment and these awards reflect the collaboration and hard work that went into the project.”
Serving as the official website for the department, the redesigned site makes it easy for users to find information on common topics including firecrackers, permits, inspections, and in-depth fire and life safety information curated specifically for homeowners, businesses, keiki, and kupuna. A primary feature on the new site is the addition of an online request for information form which allows citizens to request fire incident reports, property records, or schedule a variety of fire safety education events such as fire safety presentations.
The HFD website was redesigned in partnership with NIC Hawaii, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tyler Technologies.
