FOIA Request Sent to Hawaii Post-secondary Education Authorization Program Regarding State University Employees Salary on November 14, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Hawaii Post-secondary Education Authorization Program on November 14, 2024. The request was made by us at Aloha State News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

The request specifically asked for a list of all university employees' compensation details under the Hawaii Open Records Law § 91-1 et seq. The desired information includes the names, titles, university names, employment types, and compensation amounts of all employees at state universities and community colleges.

As part of our mission at Aloha State News, we believe in holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Access to these public records is crucial for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional.

We will continue to keep you updated on this matter as more information becomes available.
