Water service was restored on April 10 to Upcountry Maui residents and businesses on the Pukalani side of Haleakalā Highway, according to an update from local authorities. The affected area included Makani Road, Old Haleakalā Highway, Makawao Avenue, and surrounding neighborhoods.

The restoration came earlier than expected after a planned outage that began at 10:30 a.m. for main waterline repairs. Officials had anticipated the shutdown would last about six hours but managed to complete the work and restore service by 1 p.m.

Residents and business owners were impacted by the temporary loss of water but can now resume normal use following the early completion of repairs. Authorities advise anyone who notices broken water mains or leaks to report them promptly.

Further information on how to report issues or seek guidance after service restoration is available at the county’s 24/7 Water Service Helpline.

Officials have not provided additional details about what caused the need for repairs but emphasized their commitment to restoring essential services as quickly as possible.
