One lane of Honoapi‘ilani Highway (Route 30) in Kahului, Hawaiʻi will be periodically closed for utility work, according to the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT). The closures will affect the right northbound lane between Fleming Road and the intersection at Kāʻanapali Parkway/Hālelo Street. Work is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during two periods: March 9–13 and March 16–20.
The lane closure is necessary for roving Hawaiian Telcom utility work. Only one lane will be open for through traffic during these times, with most of the work taking place along the mauka shoulder. All construction is subject to weather conditions.

More information about their operations can be found on their official website. The department operates as part of the executive branch of Hawaii’s government and oversees infrastructure across all six major Hawaiian islands. HDOT also works in collaboration with federal agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration and U.S. Coast Guard.
HDOT states that its goal is “to deliver a safe, efficient, accessible and sustainable transportation system that supports mobility for people and goods while fostering economic growth and quality of life.”
