The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced potential traffic delays on the H-3 Freeway for film work scheduled on Wednesday, July 9. The affected area is between the Kāne‘ohe Bay Lookout and the Tetsuo Harano Tunnels in the Hālawa/Honolulu bound direction.

The filming will occur from 4 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., during which a film crew will conduct stunt work requiring rolling stops. Special duty police officers will be present to ensure safety by managing the space between the film crew and regular traffic. Although no lanes will be closed with cones, traffic flow may slow down to approximately 30 mph.

The permit allows for up to four or five passes within the specified time frame. Additionally, there might be short holds lasting no more than three to five minutes to enable safe entry onto the freeway for the film crew.

According to HDOT, this activity is permitted as part of efforts to support the local film industry.
