Kahului-Wailuku-Lahaina nonfarm payroll employees increase by 3.2% since Sept. 2020

The number of employees on nonfarm payrolls for Oct. 2020 in the Kahului-Wailuku-Lahaina metropolitan statistical area was 58,000, a 3.2 percent increase over the previous month, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In Sept. 2020, Kahului-Wailuku-Lahaina reported 56,200 workers on nonfarm payrolls.

Statistics were compiled from reports from the civilian labor force and unemployment data, which heavily relied on household surveys. The data is not seasonally adjusted.

Employment data is gleaned from an establishment survey that measures nonfarm employment, hours, and industry earnings. The data is also based on payroll jobs and such factors as where the establishments are located.

Overall, Hawaii reported 0.545 million people employed on nonfarm payrolls in Oct. 2020.
