The Hawaii Department of Transportation announced on Mar. 25 that the School Street on-ramp to the westbound H-1 Freeway, as well as a single right lane between the ramp and Liliha Street overpass, will be fully closed each night from Wednesday, March 25 through Saturday, March 28. The closures will take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for tree removal and slope repairs related to recent storm damage.
The work is scheduled during overnight hours to minimize impact on traffic and includes the Kūhiō Day holiday on Thursday, March 26. Special duty police officers will be present at the site to help with traffic control and ensure safety procedures are followed. Electronic message boards have been set up in advance to inform motorists about these changes.
