The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced a right lane closure on the eastbound side of Farrington Highway near Maʻipalaoa Bridge and Maʻipalaoa Road. The closure will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the week starting Monday, Aug. 11, through Thursday, Aug. 14.

According to HDOT, crews will be tightening hex nuts along the makai railing of the Maʻipalaoa Bridge during this period. Additional tasks for the project include installing delineators, replanting vegetation, and cleaning up the site. A final inspection is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 20. If further work is identified during this inspection, it may also require lane closures; these will be announced if needed.

HDOT stated that all scheduled work and completion dates depend on weather conditions and may change as necessary.

“HDOT thanks the public for its cooperation as we work to maintain safe facilities.”
