The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced that Kolo Road access to Kūhiō Highway will be closed from December 1 to December 12, 2025. The closure is scheduled on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to allow for permanent striping work at the Kīlauea Roundabout.

During these hours, drivers can reach Kīlauea Town using Pili Road and Hoʻokuʻi Road as alternate routes. HDOT has set up variable message boards at the roundabout to inform motorists about the changes.
