The Hawaii Department of Transportation announced on April 6 that daily construction will take place to repave Taxiway G between Gate B-5 and Gate A-16 at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu. The paving project will begin with closures from 10:00 p.m. Monday, April 6 until 5:00 a.m. the following day, and continue with daily closures from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., concluding by 4:30 a.m. Thursday, April 16.
This work will require all wide-body aircraft normally using Terminal 1 and the Mauka Terminal to be relocated to Terminal 2 during closure hours. Passengers flying on Hawaiian or Alaska Airlines Airbus A330 or Boeing 787 aircraft may experience gate changes and are advised to allow extra time for moving between terminals. Shuttle service within the airport is available, with details provided on the airport’s transportation page.
According to the official website, the Hawaii Department of Transportation manages multiple airports serving both domestic and international carriers, as well as commercial harbors and a statewide highway system across all six major Hawaiian islands.
