The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced that parking rates at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) will increase starting July 1, 2025. The new maximum daily rate will be $27, with further incremental increases planned over the next two years.
For the first hour, rates will remain unchanged at $1 for the first half hour and $3 for the full hour. A 15-minute grace period is available to accommodate those dropping off or picking up passengers.
These rate adjustments are part of HDOT’s ongoing efforts to modernize and maintain airport parking facilities. Planned projects include improvements to Terminal 2 Parking Structure, such as concrete surface rehabilitation, spall repairs, and upgrades to drainage and electrical systems. At the International Parking Garage, water testing is underway to check for leaks before beginning spall repair work. Additionally, HDOT is reviewing proposals for a new parking structure on Ualena Street intended for public and employee use.
A website displaying real-time parking availability at HNL garages is under development and expected later this year. This follows the installation of LED signs in 2022 showing available stalls across HNL’s three parking structures. The airport currently offers a total of 5,338 parking spaces.
HNL also provides two free cell phone waiting lots for passenger pickups: one on Aolele Street near Lagoon Drive and another on Service Road A near Nimitz Highway.
