HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu Department of Transportation Services (DTS) is announcing the second community meeting for the Keʻeaumoku Complete Streets project, happening on Thursday, March 23rd. The meeting will be virtual via Zoom, at 6 p.m.
The Complete Streets project team will present proposed Complete Streets treatments for Keʻeaumoku Street from Kapiʻolani Boulevard to Wilder Avenue and host breakout groups to gather further community feedback. Some features include protected bicycle lanes, traffic calming and pedestrian crossing improvements. The proposed safety improvements are based on input that community stakeholders provided during the walking audit, design charrettes, and first community meeting, as well as technical traffic and feasibility studies.
The City asks for your assistance in getting the word out to those who live, work, play and travel along the corridor. This important thoroughfare connects the Makiki neighborhood with the urban Ala Moana district. This is the last community meeting before the plans move into the detailed design phase.
DTS and the Complete Streets Program welcome the public’s feedback on how we can alleviate safety concerns and expand transportation options along this corridor for all users of our roadways and sidewalks.
