Kapaʻa Bypass Road southbound to close for maintenance October 27–31

The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced that the southbound Kapaʻa Bypass Road will be closed from Monday, October 27 through Friday, October 31. The closure will take place daily between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to allow for grass cutting along the roadway.

During this period, traffic will be rerouted via Kukui Street to access the two-way section of the Kapaʻa Bypass Road at Olohena Road.

HDOT encourages drivers to check the weekly schedule of lane closures on Kauaʻi for updates and additional information at https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/kauai/.

Hawaii collected $55.8 million in estate and gift taxes in 2024

Of the $10.6 billion in taxes collected by Hawaii in 2024, 0.5%, or $55.8 million, came from estate and gift taxes, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Annual Survey of State Government Tax Collections (STC).
