The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation has announced the upcoming full closure of the Wailua Plantation Bridge, also known as the Mayor Bryan J. Baptiste Memorial Bridge. The closure is scheduled to occur from 9 p.m. on Monday, April 14, through 5 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15. If necessary, the bridge may also be closed from 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, through 5 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16. During this time, the mauka Wailua Bridge will remain open for traffic in both directions.

The closure comes after a maintenance crew inspection found that two panels on the bridge require replacement. These panels are set to be replaced during the announced closure period.
