The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced night work on the H-1 Freeway at the McCully Street Overpass. The work is scheduled to take place from Sunday, July 20 through Friday, July 25, between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.
Crews will conduct subsurface utility work, closing two right lanes in each direction of the freeway one at a time. Initially, the closures will affect the eastbound H-1 Freeway between Keeaumoku Street Overpass and McCully Street Overpass. Later in the week, crews will switch to closing two right lanes on the westbound H-1 Freeway between University Avenue interchange and McCully Street Overpass. Ramps will remain open during this period.
This project is part of data collection for future retrofitting construction at the McCully Street Overpass. Further announcements regarding this construction will be made as schedules are confirmed.
All planned activities are subject to weather conditions and may change accordingly. HDOT appreciates public cooperation during these efforts to maintain safe facilities.
