KAHULUI, Hawai‘i – The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced 24/7 lane closures on Puʻunēnē Avenue (Route 3500) between West Kamehameha Avenue and Hololeʻa Street. This closure is due to ongoing sewer line work for the Hale Pilina affordable housing complex.

From Monday, July 28 to Friday, August 1, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction with no left turns allowed between West Kamehameha Avenue and Hololeʻa Street. The sewer line work will take place in the two southbound lanes and the center turn lane near McDonald’s. One northbound lane will accommodate southbound traffic.

Vehicles and bicyclists in the far right lane at the intersection of West Kamehameha Avenue and Puʻunēnē Avenue must turn right onto West Kamehameha Avenue. Left turns from Puʻunēnē Avenue onto West Kamehameha Avenue will be permitted.

For updates or changes to the construction schedule, HDOT advises checking their social media pages on Facebook and Twitter/X.

Drivers are urged to follow all traffic control devices and exercise caution around workers.
