The Hawaii Department of Transportation announced on March 16 that full nightly closures will take place along the Wai‘alae Avenue and South King Street on and off-ramps from the H-1 Freeway, beginning the week of March 16. The closures are scheduled from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. each night and are expected to last two weeks.

The project involves repaving work on the ramps connecting South King Street and Wai‘alae Avenue to the H-1 Freeway. Contingency dates have been set from March 25 through April 4 in case weather conditions delay progress. Motorists are advised to drive with caution, follow all traffic control signs and barriers, and plan their commutes ahead of time. Special duty police officers will be present to assist with safety procedures during the closures.
