Hawaii Department of Transportation announces overnight closure for Maui’s pali tunnel

The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced that one lane of the pali tunnel on Honoapi‘ilani Highway (Route 30) will be closed overnight for a routine inspection. The closure is scheduled from 8 p.m. on Monday, October 27, until 4 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28. During this period, traffic will be alternated through the open lane.

According to HDOT, crews will use a lift to access parts of the tunnel for inspection. The department urges drivers to follow all traffic controls and exercise caution near workers.
