The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced that emergency repairs on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) will continue with a single lane closure operating around the clock. The work involves compacting the road base, installing structural grids to stabilize the subsurface, and repaving the driving surface. Throughout the repairs, one lane will remain open, and traffic will alternate through this lane.

HDOT stated that all work is subject to weather conditions. For updates on construction schedules or changes, the public is encouraged to check HDOT’s social media pages on Facebook and Twitter/X @DOTHawaii. Weekly lane closure information can be found at https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/hawaii/.
