Hawai‘i DOT schedules public meeting on Kona airport master plan update

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) will hold a community informational meeting to discuss the Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keāhole (KOA) Master Plan Update. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 25, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the West Hawai‘i Civic Center, located at 74-5044 Ane Keohokālole Highway.

The master plan serves as a long-term guide for future improvements at the airport. During the meeting, HDOT will share information about the project’s goals and objectives, present draft results from aviation activity forecasts, and seek input from community members.

Caution urged for drivers during Valley to the Sea Half Marathon on March 14

The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) has issued a notice advising drivers to be cautious and expect delays on Saturday, March 14, due to the Valley to the Sea Half Marathon and related races taking place in Wailuku, Māʻalaea, and Kīhei.
