Hanalei Bridge to close for repairs from May 12-16

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced a full closure of the Hanalei Bridge on Kūhiō Highway, scheduled from May 12 to May 16. The closure will occur each night from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., impacting the segment between Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road.

The work involves replacing deck panels on the one-lane bridge, necessitating its closure during work hours. Emergency personnel will retain access throughout the operation.

HDOT has utilized variable message boards to alert the public. Additional information regarding weekly lane closures on Kaua‘i can be found on the Department’s website.
