H-1 westbound ramp closures set for December 6 due to maintenance work

The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced that lanes and ramps on the H-1 westbound, between the Lunalilo on-ramp and the Palama off-ramp, will be closed for landscape maintenance and graffiti removal. The closures are scheduled for Saturday, December 6, from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m.

Digital message boards will be used to inform drivers about the ramp closures. Information about these closures will also be included in the weekly roadwork update posted on HDOT’s roadwork page as part of the schedule for December 6–12. Of the $10.6 billion in taxes collected by Hawaii in 2024, 0.5%, or $55.8 million, came from estate and gift taxes, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Annual Survey of State Government Tax Collections (STC).
