The County of Maui announced on May 1 the opening of its new Small Grants Program, offering funding opportunities to nonprofit organizations and community groups for projects that serve Maui County. The program will provide grants of up to $30,000 per award, with typically one grant available per organization each fiscal year.

The initiative aims to support a variety of community-level activities without requiring matching funds from applicants. However, organizations are encouraged to seek leveraged funding and partnerships where possible. Applications and guidelines can be accessed online at https://tinyurl.com/Maui-County-Small-Grants, with submissions due by June 15.

An online information workshop is scheduled for Thursday, May 14 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., intended for potential applicants seeking more details about the program. Those interested in attending can register by emailing [email protected].

Eligible projects under the Small Grants Program include cultural programs and events, community-based initiatives, small business support activities, environmental stewardship efforts, as well as youth and workforce development activities.

For further information about the application process or eligibility requirements, individuals may call (808) 270-7855 and ask for extension 7736 or 7766.
