Portions of Nāpilihau Street and Honoapi‘ilani Highway (Route 30) near Nāpili Plaza will be closed on Saturday, September 13 as crews from the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) install a new traffic signal at the intersection. The closure is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., although work may finish earlier.

The installation process will require the use of a crane for placing the signal poles. During this time, there will be no through traffic on Nāpilihau Street on the makai side of Honoapi‘ilani Highway. Motorists will not be able to make right or left turns into or out of Nāpilihau Street at Honoapi‘ilani Highway. However, access to Nāpili Plaza via Nāpilihau Street will remain open.

On the mauka side of Honoapi‘ilani Highway, drivers on Nāpilihau Street will only be allowed to make right turns in and onto Honoapi‘ilani Highway.

The department asks drivers to follow all posted traffic controls and exercise caution around workers during the installation.
